I hold a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education (2004) and a master’s degree in Human Movement Science, both from Universidade Castelo Branco (2008), and a PhD in Biotechnology, with an emphasis on Health and Public Health Applied Biotechnology, from FIOCRUZ. I completed three postdoctoral fellowships: the first in Nanobiotechnology, the second in Health Sciences—both at the Federal University of Acre—and the third in the Division of Endocrinology at the Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami.
I have 14 years of teaching experience, with a strong track record in the fields of Education and Health, with emphasis on Physical Education, Nursing, Medicine, Nutrition, Biomedical Sciences, Dentistry, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Psychology and, more recently, Veterinary Medicine. I excell in teaching Human Physiology, Biochemistry, Human Anatomy, Biomechanics, and other foundational and applied health courses in Physical Education, such as Sports Training, Gymnastics, and Strength Training.
Throughout my career, I have published 19 book chapters and 85 full research articles. I have also supervised more than 45 undergraduate theses, 5 specialization monographs, 6 master’s dissertations, and 4 doctoral theses.
Currently, I lead and collaborate in nationally and internationally relevant research groups, working alongside more than 50 researchers worldwide. My publications have garnered over 300 citations, with an h-index of 10 and an i10-index of 11. I have actively served on various committees focused on technological development, the implementation of Technology Innovation Centers (NITs), intellectual property, the promotion of interinstitutional research, and the internationalization of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). For six years, I took part in the BASIS system, receiving training in institutional evaluation and re-accreditation since 2018.
Outside academia, I work in the fitness and sports market, with experience in personal training, group training and combat sports, introductory training in volleyball and badminton, as well as team and business management in the fitness and sports sector. I have also coordinated undergraduate programs and was responsible for creating the Political-Pedagogical Projects (PPP) of three programs, in addition to contributing to the PPP of a graduate (stricto sensu) program.
